Andrew Kingsley
Following management training with J. Sainsbury plc Andrew Kingsley became a student nurse in 1981 at the Bristol and Weston School of Nursing. On registration he nursed in genito-urinary/general surgery and then ICU before leaving Bristol for New Zealand.
Roles in ICU, CCU and Infection Control followed before returning to Bristol for vascular/general surgery and then to Cheltenham for Infection Control.
In 1995 he returned to his home county of Devon to start up a Tissue Viability Nursing service combining that with leading the Infection Control service soon after. During this time he has gained his BSc in Nursing from Plymouth University and an MSc in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair at Cardiff University. He has written on a variety of subjects but is best known for his work on the wound infection continuum in recent years.
In 2006 Andrew completed a two year term of office as educational booklet editor for the Wound Care Society during which time 6 educational booklets were released to members. During this time at the WCS he was introduced to the Leg Club through the founder Ellie Lindsay and wrote the infection control guidelines document.
In March 2007 Andrew joined Wounds UK as a Clinical Manager and amongst other projects will be focussing on an educational and service package for care homes.
