Catriona Riches
Physiotherapist
I graduated from Keele University in 2004 with BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. I took up my first post working for the NHS at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham as a rotational junior physiotherapist. During this time I gained valuable experience in many areas of physiotherapy to include: stroke rehabilitation, respiratory, intermediate care, trauma and orthopaedics, spinal disorders unit, outpatients and burns and plastics.
I have recently taken up a promotion at Nottingham City Hospital to become a Senior 2 musculoskeletal physiotherapist. My work is again very varied in this role. As well as my work in the NHS I also provide physio support to volleyball tournaments for BUSA (British Universities Sports Association) and the Civil Service throughout the year.
In my work I am a firm believer in delivering care in an holistic manner and my varied experiences to date allow me to do this. I feel that supporting people in maintaining their independence and ability to continue with their day to day activities is an important part of my role as a physiotherapist. I also hope that through my own interest and passion for dance and sport I can encourage and inspire others to pursue an active lifestyle to help maintain their own health and wellbeing. I look forward to working with the Leg Club Foundation in supporting users and members alike.
