Consultants of the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation
Jackie Stephen-Haynes
Consultant Nurse and Senior lecturer in Tissue Viability
Since qualifying as a registered general nurse in 1984 I have specialised in orthopaedic and rheumatology nursing before working in primary care, initially as a community staff nurse and later as a District Nurse.
Following completion of a Master in Science degree I became a specialist and lecturer in Tissue Viability in 2000 which coincided with meeting Ellie Lindsay at my first Wound conference.
I have subsequently become a Consultant Nurse for Worcestershire PCT and Senior lecturer at the University of Worcester and provide both education and clinical care in the PCT.
I have worked closely with the Leg Club foundation having been Chair of the Wound Care Society for 3 years from 2004-2007.
My enthusiasm and commitment to both clinical practice and education has led to accredited courses, several audits/ research publications, the implementation guidelines and I am pleased with the development of 2 leg clubs in Worcestershire which have made a significant impact on care delivery.
The "educational partnership" between the Wound Care Society and the Leg Club has enabled me to meet with many health care professionals who are committed and equally passionate about the delivery of evidenced based care. I continue to enjoy my role and I am pleased to be working in close collaboration with the Leg Club
