Jackie Stephen-Haynes

Jackie Stephen-HaynesJackie Stephen-Haynes is a professor and consultant nurse in tissue viability.

Since qualifying as a registered general nurse in 1984 she specialised in orthopaedic and rheumatology nursing before becoming a community staff nurse and later a district nurse.

Following completion of a Master in Science degree she became a specialist and lecturer in tissue viability in 2000. She subsequently became a professor in wound healing at Birmingham City University and consultant nurse for Worcestershire Health & Care NHS Trust. This provided her with many opportunities for research as well as education and clinical care. Jackie’s enthusiasm and commitment to both clinical practice and education has supported the delivery of several accredited educational courses including ones on tissue Viability and lower leg care.

She was a trustee of the Wound Care Society and later became its chair. She has recently overseen its transition to and rebranding as the Wound Care Alliance UK.

Jackie met Ellie Lindsay at a wound conference over ten years ago and has since worked closely with the Leg Club Foundation and remains committed to the ethos of Leg Clubs.
