Gary De'ath

Gary De’ath is the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation’s solicitor. In 1976, following graduation from the University of London, King’s College with a law degree he qualified as a solicitor. During his 40 year career as a solicitor (25 years of which have been as a partner), Gary has specialised in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, tax and Deputyships under the Court of Protection. However, for the last ten years he has specialised in charities including all aspects of setting up, running and winding up charitable organisations.  

Gary has a keen interest in health issues particularly where these interface with emotions; for many years he has assisted people as a spiritual healer.  He is particularly interested in the cultures and people of Africa, having always been drawn to the Continent and held a position as Honorary Consul to the Coté d’Ivoire for a number of years. 

Other projects Gary has assisted in include: setting up the first State aid funded Muslim school in the UK, a major multi-cultural arts and regeneration project for black and Asian people and several multi-million regeneration projects in Birmingham and Bristol.  He was also a founding Trustee of complementary health and education charity Freshwinds which was launched in 1992 and has a turnover in excess of £1.5 million. Gary has fund-raised over £105,000 for Turning Point and to provide electric wheelchairs for the Muscular Dystrophy Group.  

Hi has numerous leisure interests including opera, the visual arts and gardening. He has two dogs, a rescue German Shepherd and a  Maltese Terrier and like to escape to the sun whenever he can.
