Carole Brooke

Alan FreemanCarole has had an interest in healthcare since returning to work after raising her family. Working in GP surgeries whilst undertaking her Social Sciences degree with the Open University, led to her first management role in occupational health. Carole then became a GP Practice Manager just outside Bristol for 9 years followed by a further 7 years in her local GP Practice. It was during this period that she came across Leg Clubs and was instantly inspired to start one in her home town of Nailsea. This has been running since 2015 and, having now retired Carole is Chair of its management committee as well as volunteering regularly.

She is passionate about the role of volunteers in the Leg Club model, believing that their involvement is as beneficial to them as to the members attending each week. Her previous role and experience in primary care helps to cement good working relationships with local practices as well as the community nursing teams.
Carole is a keen hacker of the golf ball and has recently become an active gardener. She enjoys short breaks away with her husband and spending time with her growing tribe of grandchildren.
