Cynthia quote 1
quote

"I had no idea what to expect, but a friendly welcome awaited me. Members can chat together, share experiences and encourage each other. For some it is their one outing of the week. My legs are not in need of treatment at the moment, but I still visit the Club for a cup of tea and a chat with new friends."

The Foundation has been created to relieve suffering from leg ulcers and associated conditions through the implementation of an award winning model that motivates and empowers patients to take ownership of their care, alleviate their suffering and reduce the stigma attached to their condition. It also seeks to further advance education in all aspects of leg health among sufferers, carers, the general public and the healthcare professions.

Leg Ulcer Charity conference at the College of Phlebology conference

15 - 17 Mar 2017
There has never been a more exciting time for healthcare professionals involved in the assessment and treatment of leg ulcers. New techniques and new scientific research is allowing us to understand what causes leg ulcers and can point out different treatment pathways for our patients.

New methods of compression, new techniques to stimulate the ulcer bed to heal, and in some cases new techniques to permanently cure some venous leg ulcers, have started to appear around the world.

As patients have access to the Internet, it is essential that healthcare professionals are aware of what is available and what might be relevant.

The Leg Ulcer Charity is running a three-day conference dedicated to the assessment and treatment of patients with leg ulcers, highlighting some of the new science and technology that is either available or will becoming available. There will be interactive sessions and hands-on experience for some of the new techniques.

We are delighted to have support from the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation who will be strongly represented in the faculty for the meeting.

We welcome any healthcare professional to the conference either to join us to learn or to submit an abstract to talk about their own work.
