
Mo Girach BSc (Hons), MSc, MBA, FRSPH is a senior executive, clinician, and system leader with over 30 years’ experience spanning the NHS, higher education, research, local government, and the third sector. His career has encompassed Chief Executive, Executive Director, Programme Director, and Non-Executive roles, with leadership across organisational, system, and board levels.
Mo has a strong track record in leading complex, cross-sector collaborations that integrate research, policy, and practice. His work focuses on improving population health, reducing inequalities, and delivering sustainable transformation across health and social care systems. He is particularly recognised for fostering partnerships between healthcare providers, universities, public health bodies, and communities to support evidence-based innovation.
His expertise includes strategic leadership, commissioning, system redesign, and large-scale partnership working. He has led initiatives across primary care, community
services, urgent and emergency care, mental health, and allied health education, with a focus on developing outcomes-based models that enhance access, quality, and patient experience.
Most recently, as Programme Director at Lancashire NHS Foundation Teaching Hospital, Mo led system-wide collaboration involving Primary Care Networks, general practice, local authorities, universities, and the voluntary sector. This included advancing research-informed initiatives such as cancer screening and prevention programmes targeting underserved populations, developing integrated community alliances, and strengthening clinical and academic collaboration aligned with Integrated Care System priorities.
In addition to his executive roles, Mo has contributed extensively as a strategic advisor on transformation, re-commissioning, and new models of care delivery and research. He has advised the Department of Health, taught system leadership and social enterprise at The King’s Fund, and published nationally on primary care reform, social value, GP federations, and integrated care.
Mo combines clinical insight, executive leadership, and academic experience, and has held senior roles within higher education. He is a former Associate NHS Non-Executive Director, Special Advisor to the NHS Alliance, international conference speaker, and published author, including Power to People, launched at the House of Commons.
