Abdul Seckam

Abdul was born in Zimbabwe and came to Cardiff in 2002 for his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Science and Masters in Biomedical Sciences (Medical Microbiology). Having studied Public Health and Preventative Medicine in the Caribbean he returned to Cardiff to start a PhD on the role of evidence based wound care: integrating specialist and patient perspectives in 2011.

His findings demonstrate the importance of Leg Clubs to members, their dependence on them and appreciation of them. Oral and poster presentations were given in Vienna (2012), Kula Lumpur (2013), Zimbabwe (2013), Madrid (2014), and around the UK (2011-present).

Abdul says: “I am pleased to be counted as a friend of the Foundation and recently had a piece of artwork auctioned at the annual Leg Club conference and exhibition in Worcester.”
