Annabelle Barton

Annabelle BartonAnnabelle has been a volunteer at the Mottingham Leg Club, in Bromley, south London since 2012 and more recently took on the role of their Chair.  The Club has grown steadily and now treats up to 25 members each week.  As part of the volunteer committee alongside well leg members, a nurse and a church member, she helps support the clinical team, organises fundraising events and special activities. Annabelle also Chairs the Brentwood Leg Club.

Annabelle’s involvement with the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation goes back many years when she used to see Ellie Lindsay OBE at Activa Healthcare functions.  With Ellie, she visited her first Leg Club and subsequently was included in several MTG and Parliamentary events.

Charitable work has always been a part of Annabelle’s life: she has been a Planned Parenthood counsellor, maternity ward photographer, parent teacher association fundraiser, Cycling Proficiency instructor, Beaver Scout leader, Primary school governing body chair, Children’s Centre Lead Agency chair and ESOL teacher and programme coordinator.

As a Friend of the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation, Annabelle hopes she can help others who are interested in setting up and supporting future Leg Clubs.
