2026 Only Legs Aloud Half Year Update
June 2026

2026 has been a busy one so far for Only Legs Aloud - Llanidloes Leg Club.

We started the year off with thoughts on those less fortunate than ourselves. Our members and friends have been very busy knitting and crocheting and the volunteers presented Cllr Fleur Frantz-Morgans, from the Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre, with a selection of blankets which have been hand made with love ❤️.

The members didn’t stop there! They continued knitting and in March we presented a large selection of scarves to Trudy Davies and Barbara Woosnam from ‘Made with Llani Love’ and these will be distributed to hospitals and charities across the country.

They are now working on poppies for a local display in November!

Only Legs Aloud always like to celebrate special events and Easter was no egg-ception!

We had a special Easter raffle, a ‘Name-the-Bunny’ competition and a decorated egg competition. We were fortunate that the Llanidloes Mayor, Dr John Hughes, was able to join us and judge the competitions.

In April, we said farewell to Ian Brown, from Llanidloes Dial-A-Ride, and wished him a long and happy retirement. Ian has been a huge support to Only Legs Aloud transporting many of our patients every week and delivering them safely with a smile. He will be greatly missed but we are pleased that a replacement has been found and the service continues. We truly value the service that Dial-A-Ride provides within our local community; without them, many of our patients would not be able to attend week.

On May 28th we celebrated the long and successful nursing career of our Lead Nurse, Lindy Jones.

On Thursday 28th May we celebrated the long and dedicated nursing career of our Lead Nurse Lindy Jones, and wished her a long, happy and healthy retirement. Lindy, along with a small team of volunteers, set up Only Legs Aloud over 16 years ago, and her enthusiasm and passion has been instrumental in it's success.

Luckily for us, we will still see Lindy's smile as she now moves across from the nursing team to the volunteer team.
