Only Legs Aloud Half Year Update
November 2026

Only Legs Aloud have continued to be an active group through the year and have continued to work hard.
Bench
The hot weather back in July prompted the members to spend more time outside so the Committee agreed to purchase a bench for them, using funds raised through their weekly raffles and other donations. We approached a local carpenter who made us a beautiful bench which now sits outside the Y Fan Institute for everyone in the community to use.

We have seen visits from local podiatrists who were able to offer very helpful advice on foot care to our members, and this prompted some of our own members to share good ideas and tips on equipment they found useful to make life easier.

In August some of the volunteers and members supported a Car Boot which was organised by N-Able. This was very well attended by the general public and  raised significant funds for N-Able to  help them continue their good work. Through selling teas and coffees, and other produce, the members of Leg Cub were able to make a further donation in appreciation of the Boccia sessions they provide us on a regular basis.

In September we held a cake sale in aid of Macmillan and raised £121 through raffles, cakes, teas and coffees. This is an annual event for our Leg Club and everyone was pleased to be able to contribute in different ways to raise funds.

We also had a wonderful day out in September, taking members and friends on the Llanfair Light Railway followed by a buffet lunch in the Raven Hotel, Welshpool. To finish the afternoon off there was some retail therapy in Coed-Y Dinas Garden Centre and Country Store. Everyone had a wonderful day out full of fun and laughter. It is always wonderful to be able to offer these social event and day trips for our members and our Treasurer puts in a lot of work organising them for us

Lest We Forget - Our crafters have continued to work their magic with wool, and working alongside the local Knit n’ Natter group have produced a wall of crocheted poppies which will be displayed through November in Y Fan - a poignant reminder of those who have lost lives in battles.

To finish the year off, we are now looking forward to our annual Christmas party in December where we will be fine dined in Arthur’s Trefeglwys, Mid Wales and entertained by a local choir, New Dynamics. I am sure it will be another successful event for Only Legs Aloud, and a perfect end to a successful year.
