Geoff Thompson

Geoff is external auditor to the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation and is a registered nurse with over 40 years’ experience in the NHS. He began his career in infectious diseases/tropical and one of his first roles was a clinical nurse manager for infectious diseases, tropical medicine and dermatology.

In the mid-1990s he went on to set up an equipment lending library which developed into a tissue viability resource centre providing a wide range of products for bariatric patients and beds, mattresses, chairs and cushions relevant to pressure ulcer prevention.

Throughout his nursing career Geoff has been active as a teacher to nurses and other disciplines. Before retiring in 2006 from Birmingham Heartlands Hospital he started a BSc relevant to tissue viability which he completed in 2008.

From 2008 till end of 2010 he has held part time posts as audit nurse in infection control at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and as infection control nurse in Worcestershire Community.
