How can I manage my symptoms?

  • Elevate the leg   above the level of your heart as often as you can. This will help decrease swelling and pain. Prop your leg on pillows or blankets to keep it elevated comfortably.
  • Keep the leg clean and dry – although you can shower / bathe, just pat the area dry afterwards with a clean towel.
  • Clean your leg as directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Ensure you take your antibiotics as prescribed and complete the whole course
